A.MANNESMANN Stands for Flexibility in Small and Medium-Sized Companies

Small and medium-sized businesses are characterized by their ability to change quickly. A.MANNESMANN exhibits this by tapping into new business fields and developing product innovations. "As a technology leader in ball screws, we have tapped into new customer groups with our telescope actuators,” says managing director Max W. Schenck about the corporate strategy.

The ultra-precise machine components are used in machines for additive production, for example. This technology is already being used to produce prototypes, tools and end products. To ensure this, A.MANNESMANN manufactures up to four-stage telescope actuators that ensure the best possible positioning for “3D production.”

“Entrepreneurial management with a flat hierarchy is the only bonus for us as a medium-sized manufacturer,” says Max W. Schenck as he describes the flexibility of A.MANNESMANN. Where large companies are clumsy and slow to act, we are free to make decisions and react quickly to different situations. On the other hand, small and medium-sized companies pursue a corporate and future planning that is aimed at continuity in the long-term. This makes it possible to compensate for and survive the economic ups and downs.

In addition to traditional engineering markets, the company relies on current technological trends. New developments are continuously advanced based on our own production expertise and are frequently used in many industries as patented solutions.

In the process, A.MANNESMANN consistently focuses on “accuracy” as a unique selling point of the company. “This is also anchored in our logo, because it is our special focus and therefore our success factor,” says Max W. Schenck as he explains why production often occurs down to the thousandth of a millimeter. “This is why customers around the world choose machine elements from A.MANNESMANN.”

A.MANNESMANN expanded the plant location in Bliedinghausen by about 3,000 square meters in order to meet customer requirements. Ball screws are produced in the new production hall, partly in new manufacturing centers and under climate-controlled conditions, in order to further expand our own precision requirements.

Motivation: Design and achieve quick results in a team
The motivation for management and employees alike lies in the opportunity to design and achieve quick results together in a team of excellent specialists. It is then easier to optimally design procedures and quickly optimize processes. A.MANNESMANN relies on a team combination of continuity and dynamism.

The company continuously trains its own younger generation and follows this up with continuous advanced training. Many highly-skilled employees can therefore look back on 25 or even 40 years of company affiliation. In addition, there are good external employees, often from rigid corporate structures, who want to evolve and develop in a company with short distances on the company ladder. Dynamism is also called harnessing potential, which is why jobs are tailored to the employee's potential and not the other way around. The corporate culture also includes individual arrangements between work and family, because after all it is people who form a valuable part of the company's performance with their expertise and their personality.
